This week in Wheatgrass Class....

·         In English this week we watched a short clip from ‘Shrek’ and used it to write a description of a setting. We thought of some brilliant adjectives!
·         In Maths this week the Reception children have been working on estimating how many objects they could see and then checking their answers by counting. The Y1s have been finding halves and quarters of shapes and amounts.   
·         This week we performed a brilliant song in the music concert in front of the whole school! We also had fun taking part in an Easter Egg hunt and eating chocolate!

This week in Wheatgrass Class....

·         In English this week we wrote some super letters to the people that used to live and work in Conisbrough Castle! We thought of some great questions to ask!
·         In Maths this week the Reception children have been continuing to work on different ways of adding and taking way. The Y1s have been adding, taking away and solving number sequences.  

·         This week we have been busy learning a song for the music concert next week. We also worked hard in groups to find the best materials to make different household objects. We also had lots of fun during Science Day on Tuesday and Sport Relief on Friday, taking part in lots of different science and sporting activities.

This week in Wheatgrass Class....

·         In English this week we talked about our visit to Conisbrough Castle. We sequenced the events in the correct order and then had a go at writing about the different activities that we took part in.
·         In Maths this week the Reception children have been working on solving word problems involving addition and subtraction. The Y1s have been solving addition and subtraction problems using a number line.  
·         This week we had a go at drawing a picture of a castle on the laptops, with some great results! We also designed our own shields as well as having a great time on our school trip!

Conisbrough Castle

On Tuesday we visited Conisbrough Castle. We had a great day looking around the castle and the keep. We learned lots about the different people who used to live there and had a great time taking part in the different activities. Thanks to all of the adults who came with us on our trip!
