This week in Wheatgrass Class...

In literacy this week we read ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch!' We made some sandwiches of our own and had a lovely picnic in the sunshine! The next day we wrote some instructions, explaining how to make a sandwich.
In maths this week the Reception children have been busy collecting information about the most popular car colour on the high street and recording it in a tally chart. The year one children have been working on sharing and dividing.
In our topic work this week we have been busy creating some seaside paintings using paper plates. We also had a brilliant time practising and taking part in Sports Day!

Sports Day

Well done to everyone who took part in Sports Day! Everyone did so well and showed great team spirit! A huge thank you to all of the parents who came to support us, too!

This week in Wheatgrass Class...

·         In literacy this week we read a story called “The Lighthouse Keeper’s Catastrophe!” We had a go at acting out the story and then tried to predict what would happen at the end of the book.
·         In maths this week the Reception children have been busy practising our doubling and halving skills. The year one children have been solving problems involving repeated addition and sharing.
·         In our topic work this week we have been using the instruments to make different seaside sounds. We have also been learning about the five oceans in the world. We have also been very busy practising for Sports Day!

Minibeast stones

Here are our brilliant ladybird and bumblebee stones! We painted them with acrylic paint, varnished them and then found a nice place for them in our outdoor area. They look great!
