Thank you

Thank you to all of the children in Wheatgrass Class for a brilliant year at school! I can't believe the summer holidays are here already! Wishing everyone a lovely summer and we will see everyone in September.

This week in Wheatgrass Class.....

This week we have been busy writing explanations of how a chick hatches from an egg. We have also been working on recognising and describing 2D and 3D shapes. We have also enjoyed welcoming the pre schoolers during their transition visits and made lots of fantastic collage flowers, too.

We are all looking forward to our visit to Anderby Creek on Monday and can't believe there are only four days of school left!

This week in Wheatgrass Class....

·        This week we have been busy writing recounts of our visit to Belton! We worked really hard on them and produced some great pieces of work. We also practised very hard for Sports Day and enjoyed spending the day with the lights off on Thursday to save energy during ‘Switch Off’ Day! We were also extremely excited this week to welcome our three baby chicks into the world! Bruno, Jake and Bobby are all doing well and I don’t think we’re going to want to let them go home!

Chicks

This week we have been so excited as we welcomed our new baby chicks! We have had so much fun getting to know them!

Belton

We had a lovely day at Belton on Monday! We learned lots about plants and had lots of fun exploring the grounds. We also got to have a go on the play equipment too!

This week in Wheatgrass Class...

In English this week we have been describing the characters in 'Jack and the Beanstalk', thinking of some great adjectives to describe Jack, the giant and the rest!
In maths this week the reception children have been working on solving doubling and halving problems. The Y1s have been solving multiplication and division problems using objects.
This week we have started to practise for Sports Day. We have also used photos to make a plan of the school grounds and used Google to search for things we would like to have in our gardens at home.
