This week in Wheatgrass Class......

In English this week we read the story of ‘Jack and the beanstalk.’ We planted some seeds and then wrote instructions to match. 

In Maths this week the Reception children have been timing different events and learning how to tell the time to the hour. The Y1s have been finding the missing number in a subtraction number sentence using objects and number lines. 

This week we planned an investigation to find out what plants needs in order to grow. On Friday we had lots of fun during ‘School Games Day’, taking part in lots of different activities

This week in Wheatgrass Class...

 - In English this week we have been reading the story ‘The Enormous Turnip.’ We acted the story out, sequenced the events and then wrote some of the story ourselves. 

- In Maths this week the Reception children have been collecting information and recording it in a tally chart. The Y1s have been finding the missing number in a number sentence using objects and number lines. 

- This week we looked at different types of flowers. We also completed our Father’s Day cards which I hope everyone will enjoy!

This week in Wheatgrass Class...

·         In English this week we have been learning all about the queen! We talked about the different events in the queen’s life and wrote letters to invite her to our party on Friday. 

·         In Maths this week the Reception children have been solving different calculations using objects and number lines. The Y1s have been adding and subtracting three numbers using a number line and drawing their own. 

·         This week we learned the different parts of a plant and had a go at finding the best material for the queen’s coat! We also enjoyed our first session with Ricky, working on sending and receiving using balls. We also had lots of fun celebrating the queen’s birthday on Friday!
