This week in Wheatgrass Class.....

In English this week we have been learning about riddles! We read lots of riddles about animals and then used those ideas to help us write our own!

• In Maths this week the Reception children have been working hard to solve problems 

involving money. We have been adding and taking away using 1p coins. The Y1s have been solving problems involving halves and quarters. 

• This week we learned about what animals needed to survive as well as matching animals to their offspring.

This week in Wheatgrass Class...

·          In English this week we have been busy writing a letter to Mrs Glendinning to convince her to let us have some baby chicks after half-term!

·          In Maths this week we have been recapping our work on shape, addition and subtraction and the different methods we use to solve problems.

·          This week we painted our clay animals and they look great! We also started learning a new dance in PE ready for our final lesson with Beth next week! 

This week in Wheatgrass Class...

·          In English this week we have been busy planning and writing our own reports about farm animals. We are going to put our reports into a book which will go in the school library!

·          In Maths this week we have been measuring the weight and capacity of different objects using different units of measurement.

·          This week we started to make our own clay farm animals as well as learning the differences between carnivores, herbivores and omnivores! 

This week in Wheatgrass Class...

·         In English this week we were finding the differences between fiction and non-fiction books. We looked at lots of information books and looked at the different features.

·         In Maths this week the Reception children have been measuring the height and length of objects using cubes. The Y1s have been using metre sticks and rulers to measure different objects.    

·         This week we used the ipads to practise our typing skills. We also talked about the differences between living and non-living objects.
