This week in Wheatgrass Class……

-In Literacy we have been continuing to work on our phonics sounds. We had a go at playing some phonics games and spelling out some simple three letter words.
     -  In Maths the Reception children have been sorting objects in different ways, such as by colour or type. The Y1 children have been working on their weighing skills.
    -  In our topic work we have been learning about the different countries of the UK and where they are on a map. On Thursday we took part in a whole-school activity to create some artwork related to our Golden Values.

This week in Wheatgrass Class……

-In Literacy we have been thinking about what we like playing with at school. We then had a go at labelling objects using initial sounds. The Y1 children also had a go at re-writing a story in their own words.
-In Maths the Reception children have been busy working on their number formation to ten and beyond. The Y1 children have been working on their tallying skills.
-In our topic work we have continued to think about our senses. We tried to work out what different objects could be just by using our sense of touch. On Thursday we all brought something special into school which we shared with the rest of the class. We then painted a picture of our special object.

This week in Wheatgrass Class……

·         In Literacy we have been thinking about lists. We talked about when we might need to write a list and how we should set them out. We then had a go at writing different types of lists, mainly involving shopping!
·         In Maths the Reception children have been busy finding ‘one more’ and ‘one less’ either using objects or by counting on or back in their heads. The Y1 children have been working on writing addition and subtraction number sentences.
·         In our topic work we have been thinking about our senses. We went on a senses walk and talked about what we could hear, see, smell and feel, as well as tasting different types of food. On Friday we performed our song “I went to the garden…” for everyone at church. We hope you enjoyed it.
